Tourism professionals at Convention and Visitors Bureaus – CVBs (or Destination Marketing Organizations – DMOs) are implementing some innovative programs to increase visitation in their destinations. We call them Tourism Best Practices.
Two destination marketing organizations led the way in developing their communities more as destinations.
The program will have twenty bikes and six docking stations in convenient locations for residents and tourists to rent bikes and ride to points of interest in the city and along the river.
The CVB helps secure new fencing to improve the local fairgrounds and events held at the destination.
Events, events, events… festivals and events draw visitors and this week, two of them are food related…
Attendees dance to live music while sampling wines and beers not only from all across the United States, but from around the world, and treat yourself to the delicious food catered by our finest local chefs and restaurants.
The Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau is once again sponsoring Double Decker Dine 2017, a moveable feast that samples the tastiest and best of what some of the area’s restaurants have to offer.
$110,000 in grants from the Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau could help fund 16 events to draw visitors.
